Hello there,

I’m a Dallas native studying Convergence Journalism & French at Southern Methodist University. I write about diverse perspectives, like local responses to international issues, humanitarian work in Dallas, faith experiences and community events.

I’m working to experience freedom in every area of my life; work, school, faith, style, relationships and hobbies. My writing, published here and elsewhere, serves to celebrate stories of freedom, share how I’m learning to live freely, and encourage people to experience the same in their lives.

When I’m not working, writing or with loved ones, I love to play piano, read, listen to Ella Fitzgerald, and reorganize spaces in my home (I just can’t help myself).

As an editorial intern at D Magazine, I write, edit and fact-check pieces for online and print content. Clips of my writing for D Magazine publications can be found here and here.

My work for the SMU's online newspaper, The Daily Campus, focuses on nontraditional college experiences, with a special concentration on showing diversity among the student body and alumni.

While I focus on print reporting, I also produce news packages for SMU’s television program, The Daily Update and served as the Assistant Editor for SMU Look.

My colleagues and I founded SMU Crave, a lifestyle site for college students, of which I am the Editor-in-Chief. For this project, I designed and created the website, while also editing, scheduling and writing content. The team worked together to create a hybrid of news and culture that resonated with other students and made the city of Dallas more accessible.

I previously managed social media for both non-profit and for-profit organizations in Dallas. These roles included photography, social media strategy, marketing, copywriting and online publication.

Photography is a long-time interest of mine, and I have experience with DSLR cameras, as well as the production, editing and styling side of the craft. I write personal essays, design websites and learn languages in my spare time.

For more information on my professional work, read my resume or find me on LinkedIn. Other writing--like personal essays and academic work--can be found on my website's home page. My photography lives on Instagram.
